In solaris, is there a way to see a NIC's mac address *before* it's plumbed, i.e. before you can view it's status with ifconfig?

I'm wanting to know what it's mac addr will be when I set eeprom local-mac-address?=true.. by default the 2nd NIC always comes up with the original NIC's mac address.. why on earth would you ever want that to be the case?

P.S. I'm trying to setup ipmp-based failover with one fiber & one copper, without having to reboot the server.
