View Full Version : What in the world is this???

A friend of mine found this in the backyard - she doesn't have any idea where it came from. It looks like the innards of a small mammal but there was no evidence of the, well, outtards of the animal. Any theories on what exactly this is and how it ended up in someone's backyard in small-town Illinois?

Not for the faint of heart or weak of stomach.

Looks pretty clean if it came out of an animal. Like it was gutted or something.

Doesn't the Mafia leave a dead fish at your door? Maybe a cat ate the outside of the fish...Who have you p***ed off lately? Any Italians?

It's just a gut sack out of an animal. Of course there's nothing to give it any size perspective, so it'd be hard to figure out what kind of animal. And it's a very neat, clean gut job. Head shot for sure.

Phhhftfffft.

My cat brings that kind of crap home all the time. She kills a varmint and then destroys it until it looks exactly like that pile of guts. The other day I got a Rabbit Gut Casserole left on my porch.

And yes, it is weird how...'clean'...it looks. Sometimes I'll find just a head, sometimes I find only a head and the guts, sometimes I find a rat butt with no legs or anything else.

And then the next day I find a pile of cat puke out in the yard with all the other stuff that she did eat.

Cats are evil. And grody.

sheesh, you have some fun rodent stories.

I should take some pics of some of the stuff that cat brings me. Some of it is downright gruesome. I've actually gotten a stick and poked around on some of it just because, like that original pic, I simply could not tell what the craphell it was. I need to know what she's killing/eating so if she ever does get sick I can at least know what to tell the vet.

Which reminds me...I still need to post a pic of my cat getting down on a Taco Bell taco....:meat:

I am glad I am not the only one with this issue. As soon as I saw this picture I was reminded of the weekly "present" I usually have in the master bathroom waiting for me when I get up in the morning.....The mint condition inards of a field mouse/rat.

But I will still take that over dumbass dogs.

My two little rat terriers are always finding baby rabbits. Only thing is, they don't bring any of the little furry dudes home - cause they eat them. Damn delicacy, I'm thinking. I've sat and watched Boomer (the male) crunch/kill 6 baby rabbits, and have them completely eaten in less than 10 minutes. I usually have to go take a couple and toss them to Sooner so she quits whining jealously. They do not leave anything. Not even a drop of blood.
