I brought some serranos and jalapenos from my garden to the guys at work and Miguel says that I am growing gringo chiles. They were both very mild.

How can I make the plants grow a spicier chiles?

Sprinkle in a little bit of hot sauce with the plant food.

Plant some habaneros nearby. I think they will cross pollinate.

there is a habanerno plant within 2 feet of the other chiles.

they are prolly just ****ing with you...from my experience with my mexican buddies.

drier soil makes chili's angry, though. but, it's all in the seeds...so there may not be much you can do.

Leave pr0n playing around them. That should make them hot.

see, I heard that if you don't water them as much they get hotter. Is that correct?

And how do I know it's time to pick my eggplants and cucumbers?

TIA

That is correct. If you water the plants too much the chile peppers get really big and they aren' as hot. If they don't get a lot of water the peppers stay small and blazing hot.

yup, which was my point about angry peppers.

though it IS the MO of the american grocery industry to overwater vegetables so they grow faster and have no taste....except water.

Why do you hate water?

Why do you hate water?

because in the future we'll all be buying it from Warren Buffet or Halliburton...
