From time to time, some doofus will accidentally send an email to All Email Users on the company email system. Invariably, somebody else will respond, not only to the original emailer but will manage to also include All Email Users. Here is today's version, in order.

Email #1 to Health Promotions which includes All Email Users:

I work at XXXXX and need to find the closest and less time consumming place to check my blood pressure. I am currently on medication, but can feel my pressure has risen over the last two or three weeks. Before I go to my physician I would like to show him what it has been for a few days or maybe a week. Thank You, XXXXXX

Email #2 which included the text of the original email was kindly sent along, again, to Health Promotions which includes All Email Users:

I'm not sure if you received this e-mail but since it came to me (not sure how), I'm thinking you might not have received it. Thanks.

XXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXX Attorney (Yes, this person is a lawyer)

Email #3 (it's the best :D) from a random employee who responded to sender of Email #2 AND ADDED Health Promotions which includes All Email Users:

Well I don't know why this came to me from XXXXX (Sender of Email #2). Who or what is Health Promotion? These machines are goofy!!!

XXXXX (Email #1 sender), I'd be glad to help you but I don't know much about blood pressure. Why has your risen? I do not like that! You need to come Out West with me and we'll hunt a bit and loaf a lot.

XXXXX

Well, it was funny to me at least. :D

One time a guy sent out a birth announcement via e-mail and one of his buddies replied to all (oops) and claimed parentage of said child in a racy fashion...

I thought that was funny too.

One time, our department admin assistant sent out this form for us all to update our personal information like home phone numbers, our travel profiles...stuff like that. She sent it to about 75 people with a 'please fill this out so I can update your files and return it to me by...blah, blah, blah'.

So this total dorkus fills it out and replies to all with all of his personal info, credit card info (we have corporate credit cards for traveling), hotel room preferences. etc.

I thought it was funny.

Email #4 from a different random employee, sent to the previous 3 emailers AND Health Promotions which includes All Email Users:

I have no idea why this was sent to any of us! In any case, I suggested that XXXX call 2-1-1 from a land line or go
the Company Physician.

There is a guy who works very remotely in our network somewhere, and once in a while when he gets what he considers a good joke e-mail, something bashing OU usually, he sends it to all in the global address book.

I would respond, but he is much higher up than me.

Have you replied yet? We could make a group decision on what you should send and to who.

I am not technical in nature, but I do believe that hilarity therapy is a class offered by XXXXXXXXX health promotions, and this email certainly has provided that.

Thank you so much!

OK, this is the FINAL email on this. People, just stop responding to these emails and they will stop.

At my former company, the employee morale team sent out an email asking for suggestions for a team song (yes, one of the reasons why I no longer work for this company), someone mistakingly replied to everyone instead of forwarding it to just his buddy "Take This Job and Shove It". He was escorted out of the office the next day.

And, no, it wasn't me.

We had this happen here when someone was trying to reach someone else and ask them a question about the price of using the parking deck. Somehow it was sent to everyone in my building, plus our operations center, plus a location about 10 miles from here.

The replies went on for hours...People were replying asking: why did I receive this email, I think this was sent to me in error, I work at ***** and we don't even have a parking deck...

Someone finally noted that this was sent to our entire building in error and to disregard it and send no more replies. Needless to say more replies were sent stating the same things I have already mentioned...And of course, everybody would receive every reply...

What kind of ****ty e-mail servers do you guys have that can't handle 11 company-wide emails? ;)

I remember when my roommate found out that OU's FTP servers had no folder security. You could download the entire server from the root directory.

So we did.

The IT guys caught on about 3 hours into the DL and cut off access. :D

Old people are funny. And with that attitude, you young punk, you're never going to make it to "old." Some geezer is going to take you out through superior experience and treachery. :D

Seriously, people should be required to take an intelligence test before being allowed to use "reply all." If you want to annoy a large number of people with your "e-mails" (thank you, Mrs. Howzit), just join the South Oval. ;)

Do you tell her that "you find her arguement unpersuasive"? Even though it doesn't fit in this circumstance. That would make the response even more funny. She could say to HER coworkers: my husband replies to everything "I find your arguement unpersuasive." It would provide her with a good laugh.
