Keep in mind that it's per capita, so that almost perfectly round red spot in eastern Oregon basically represents Kellen Clemens.

Wow. If you want to be a DI football player don't play Missouri high school football in Licking, Houston, Willow Springs Cabool or Mountain Grove.

Also apparently football in Aroostok County Maine is the suck.

I liked the black population stat as well. Racist, but funny.

What the hell is that red spot on the AZ/NM border?

you'd figure the way the media always says texas, florida, and california were the TOP hs football states, that california would have more red than it does. kinda interesting

Remember the map is Per Capita...I thought the exact same thing as you when I first looked at the map.

the overlay of the black population and the d-I players proves one thing. white people, including myself, for the most part can't play football. anyone else notice how the red areas and the 10%+ black counties perfectly coincided. white people have no skill:(

No doubt. It would be REALLY nice if OKC could produce as much D-1 talent as Lawton and Tulsa. Hell, that's not even per capita. I don't know why that is. Maybe if you counted all the Norman, Edmond, Moore kids as OKC?

Cool maps. Nifty thread.

What in the flying fudge is it doing on an NBA fan board?
