I hate everytime I look away or go do something for a little bit and I come back and see a homer by Rice and it is actually a replay of the day before.

Eielson
6/12/2006, 12:36 PM

Penguin
6/12/2006, 12:59 PM
Where did they get these announcers?

I'm no baseball expert, but that was a clear balk by that Rice pitcher. Three umpires jumped up and yelled "Balk!"

What a couple of idiot announcers. They were saying that the pitcher came to a complete stop. Yep. He sure did. That wasn't the balk, dip****s! If they would actually pay attention to the replay, you clearly see him take a step toward first and then continue his pitch to home plate.

Why does ESPN have to give us a couple of idiots to announce the game?

Eielson
6/12/2006, 01:00 PM
pop out to center. Runner holds. 2 outs. Runner on second.

That's what I was thinking. The way things have been going, there's no way they don't score in the bottom of the inning. :O

What do I win?

that five-run 6th was teh suck but the fact that we made it this far, with this pitching staff, was a minor miracle

Small strike zone with an occasional outside, inside, high or low for a strike???
Bottom line, Rice did a better job pitching.
Get the footballs out.

Good game and good series Sooners.

FWIW, Cox was supposed to be our closer and St. Clair the set up (or vice versa), but had control problems end of last year and beginning of this year. He spent most of this season developing a new shorter delivery which he didn't even debut until after finals, when he came out throwing strikes and adding a couple MPH to his fastball (97). So just in time for the postseason we found ourselves with 2 closers. And for Cox, it was just in time to make a few impressive appearances for the scouts and move into the top 5 rounds.

Hope those of you who came down enjoyed it, other than the heat (but we can blame the schedulers at ESPN and NCAA for that).

This postseason has been a hell of a ride. Anytime you come this close to the next level and fall short, especially the way we did today, it hurts. But still, a valiant effort by our boys and congrats to the Owls.

It's been fun sharing this run with you lot. :D

Kinda/sorta disappointing end to the season. It woulda been sweet to knock off the Hooters at their home park. But it wasn't meant to be. Rice has a very good all round team.
