Ann Coulter Fires Back at Hillary Clinton



Conservative author Ann Coulter is firing back at Sen. Hillary Clinton, after the former first lady attacked her for being "vicious [and] mean-spirited" towards a group of politically active 9/11 widows.

"I think if she's worried about people being mean to women she should have a talk with her husband," Coulter told radio host Sean Hannity, who was hosting a book signing for the conservative firebrand on Long Island.

"This is, I remind you, Bill Clinton's wife," Coulter added. " And I'm the one (who's) mean to women?"



Earlier in the day, Mrs. Clinton complained about Coulter's attacks on the Jersey Girls, a group of 9/11 widows who blamed President Bush for the attacks that killed their husbands and who campaigned for John Kerry in 2004.
Coulter accused Democrats of using people perceived as ''victims", such as the "Jersey Girls" and Cindy Sheehan, to make their arguments for them. Since people feel it's unfair to engage in debate with a perceived victim, charges and unfair characterizations by these victims go unchallenged.

"Perhaps [Coulter's] book should have been called 'Heartless,"' the top Democrat said. "I know a lot of the widows and family members who lost loved ones on 9/11. They never wanted to be a member of a group that is defined by the tragedy of what happened."

An angry Clinton added that she found it "unimaginable that anyone in the public eye could launch a vicious, mean-spirited attack on people whom I've known over the last four and a half years to be concerned deeply about the safety and security of our country."

But Coulter told Hannity: "She may know the 9/11 widows, but you and I know Juanita Broaddrick" - a reference to the woman who accused Mrs. Clinton's husband of sexually assaulting Ms. Broaddrick in 1978.

Coulter delivered her broadsides against Mrs. Clinton as a phalanx of TV and print reporters looked on.

The heavy coverage was prompted by the New York Daily News, which frontpaged Coulter's comments on the Jersey Girls in Wednesday editions.

"These broads are millionaires, lionized on TV and in articles about them, reveling in their status as celebrities and stalked by grief-arazzis," Coulter writes.

"And by the way, how do we know their husbands weren't planning to divorce these harpies? Now that their shelf life is dwindling, they'd better hurry up and appear in Playboy. . .

I am sorry that people lost family members in the Murrah building bombing.
I am sorry that people lose family members in auto accidents, drive-by shooting and to illness.
Losing a loved one is tough anytime.
I use Hero for only some of the above as I don't feel that being a victim of circumstance makes you a hero. I view the rescuers at 9/11 and the Murrah Building as heroes. And soldiers, minus the few bad ones, are heroes.

There is a nugget of truth at the base of Coulter's take here. There's no doubt in my mind that either political party would use such people to advance their agenda. Victims such as these would have an untouchable quality to them, and it is a cheap tactic to use them as a mouthpiece.

Her manner of conveying it is completely inappropriate and exposes her as a mean spirited person who will say anything to try to get in a jab at the other side. She is a living, breathing example of everything that is wrong with the two-party political system, and it is sad that so many of our citizens value her opinions.

That being said, Hillary Clinton shouldn't be bothering to respond to it. As a United States Senator, someone with real political power, she should be above responding to commentary such as this from a person like Coulter. The fact that she can't pass up the opportunity to make Republicans look bad, regardless of their significance in the grand scheme of things, is another example of what is wrong with our political system.

Coulter's attempted rebuttal is completely irrelevant. It is nothing more than a cheap attempt to distract.

Agreed that going after those four women was wrong. But it is Ann Coulter and every time that people expect little of her, she continues to move the bar lower.

On the flip side, Bill castrated his women supporters numerous times over the years. Hillary's position in defending women is pretty weak considering how Bill treated women and how he placed her in a position of sitting back with a thumb up her arse.

I don't recall Bush being in the title of this thread nor in any of the comments, till you brought him into it that is. If he has anything to do with the Coulter - Hillary cat fight, then by all means bring him in. Given that Hillary's life partner Bill castrated her, NOW and all of the other female democrats in congress at the time, I think bringing that aspect into the thread is appropriate. He was there for telecommunications work during the US led occupation of Iraq. Yes, I know for sure that he wouldn't have been over there had the US not taken it over. That's not in dispute.

His killers claimed (not Nick Berg's father - the actual killers) that his death was carried out to avenge abuses of Iraqi prisoners by U.S. soldiers at Abu Ghraib prison. Did Bush have a hand in waiving off the Geneva convention protocols with those prisoners? I can't remember.

Radagast was a lover of animals which is a huge benefit to Gandalf and Saruman because he was able to collect information from animals. Only one occasion I can recall was more than one wizard together at a time, and that was when the Council broke Mirkwood from Sauron and only Saruman and Gandalf was there.
