Gang signs?

I saw an article about a 14 year old kid that was just killed in Houston by a rival gang when "gang signs were thrown".

I guess I never understood much about gang signs, so I did a google image search, and this is what I found.

I did too when I went there for freshman & sophomore year. The one plus to TCU was the girl to guy ratio which was around 2.5 to 1. The girls were pretty good looking for the most part, came from families with money and were fairly bright.
