View Full Version : Home-Field Announcers--Does it provide an edge?

Two years ago at the UT/ATM game, the refs were debating whether a pass should have been interefence against the UT defense. The Austin announcer quickly added that the pass was tipped, and therefore, no interfence should be called. He was correct, but it got me thinking; He was definitely trying to influence the call, and he was perhaps successful. How many games are affected by home-field announcers who slyly provide information to influence calls?

Maybe that's what helped the refs at last year's OU/Texas Tech game.:D
