so ya'll get a reprieve from me today. I'm on Lazy Guy's mochine right now. The lappy got jolted out of the cradle harness thingy and it's locked up like pointer on a covey of quail.

Any suggestions? It won't even turn back on.

Boiling water is usually a cure-all for just about any electronic device.

unplug it from power, pull the battery, and make sure the hard drive is still in there.

A tack hammer. Hit it really hard a few times with a tack hammer.

i'd take it all the way out of the docking station, if that is what you are talking about

and pull the battery and power like soonerboomer said

If the computer is still not working after all of the good advice above, unplug everything, remove the battery(laptop, but I thought you had a desktop at work) and let it sit for 30 minutes. Then put it back together and try it.
If it still isn't working, the company will need to get you a new one. Repairing a computer is pretty expensive and you will be without for too long.

I'm telling you people, something is obviously stuck. Maybe a valve.

That's definitely a two-handed bow saw.

No way could I operate that with one hand, unless I held my mouth just right and really got my back into it.

I'm getting similar problems with my laptop. It's locking up on AC power, and the AC power outlet is loose again. I've taken it to a shop this time. They claim that most likely its probably that the intermitent power has caused a problem with the battery...fortunately they say they can fix it for much cheaper than replacing the motherboard would be.
