View Full Version : I’ve been curtsied

I accidentally ran into a young woman yesterday. She backed away from me, curtsied and then walked off.

That’s the second time in a month that I’ve been curtsied. The other time, I held the lift door open for a woman. She entered the lift and then curtsied. She didn’t wai me, which would have been the traditional Thai show of respect or thank you.

I’m a bit disturbed about this trend. What are they teaching kids these days?

Is it because I’m getting like old?

What am I supposed to do? Bow back?

And does anyone think that a curtsy is, oh say like 50 years, out of date?

If you'd quit dressing up like Queen Elizabeth you wouldn't have that problem, Chuck.;)

Other than that, how are things in the Far-East?

Heh! And, I have the hand wave down pat, I tell you.

We are suffering. Foreigners may have stopped selling, but Wall Street is so schizo about growth and interest rates, nobody here cares any longer. Might as well bet on the World Cup.

Hey, I'll be in the US next week. So, that's good.

Barn door was closed, but I'm liking this theory better than the Queen Elizabeth one.

And shake my...? Hey, I'm no Stanley.

Can't stamp out manners everywhere, I guess.
