I accidentally ran into a young woman yesterday. She backed away from me, curtsied and then walked off.
That’s the second time in a month that I’ve been curtsied. The other time, I held the lift door open for a woman. She entered the lift and then curtsied. She didn’t wai me, which would have been the traditional Thai show of respect or thank you.
I’m a bit disturbed about this trend. What are they teaching kids these days?
Is it because I’m getting like old?
What am I supposed to do? Bow back?
And does anyone think that a curtsy is, oh say like 50 years, out of date?
