I didn't know that. Looks like a nice joint though. Any thoughts on how it might compare to the Norman Residence Inn?

You know what's going to really suck?
When the extremists take over the UAE and all of these luxury hotels will be used as giant goat pens.

Hell, I didn't even know there was such a thing as a five-star hotel. What amenities come with seven stars--free in-room hookers?

Those things are kept secret from the "steerage" types.

Dubai is quickly running out of oil

they attempting to (and doing a damn good job of it) turn themselves into a tourist destination. It's become one big play area, especially for that part of the world.

Before I clicked on the thread, I though it has to be in Dubai.

My tourist "dollars" will never find its way to that part of the Middle East.

I was amused by an article last year that Middle Eastern families were going to India for "rain" vacations. Their kids love to play out in the rain, which must be a novelty for them.

I don't get the self-designated seven star idea either. If all of the rooms are like luxury suites, how would that be any different from some of the luxury suites at the five star hotels.

Mr. Nope and I stayed at the Mandarin in Hong Kong last year and although it wasn't a luxury suite, the service was freaky good. If we go back 20 years from now, I bet they'll remember us.

It also raises the question of anticipating our needs versus recording every request.
