Computer question please help

I just bought a 16 x 9 widescreen lcd monitor. Everything works great but everything is stretched? Is there any control in windows to fix this.

Use a different screen resolution, one the uses a 16x9 aspect ratio. Don't use 1024x768 or 1280x1024

the monitor should have documentation for it's native resolution. set it to that and it should be fine
