One afternoon in 1999, we got over 7 inches in Newcastle. We had a property that aligned a creak. The small valley near there was flooded and the leaves and ground debris showed how high the water had risen.

I remember getting home from work and wondering just what the heck had happened.

A heavy rain is quality entertainment.

Dang, if it didn't creak before the storm I bet it did after. What with all that rain and rust and whatnot.

Sorry, that should read "creek."

And yes, it was pretty noisey after that storm.

Creaky as an old creaky thing.
