I just read this in a report by a parole officer, describing a woman's criminal history:
She was observed leaving a department store with two unpaid video recorders valued at more than $200 but less than $750. It was ordered that the defendant pay a fine of $1000 and attend a shoplifting class
I guess they didn't want her to get caught again.
