Anyone on here have/drive one of these cars? While I would love to be able to afford a Honda Accord, I think these cars are pretty slick and cheaper! TIA

Anyone on here have/drive one of these cars? While I would love to be able to afford a Honda Accord, I think these cars are pretty slick and cheaper! TIACheaper up front, maybe. But when you consider their resale value vs. the Accord, and the maintenance costs of a Ford product vs. a Honda over a 5 year ownership span, I'm guessing they're at least as expensive, and probably more. And of course if you stretch it out further, the maintenance gap is going to be even greater, because after 5 years, a Ford car starts falling apart (their trucks are slightly better), whereas the Honda is good for 10 years if you keep the oil changed.

but to answer your actual question, a friend of mine got the fusion as a rental car and said it drove nice.

I drove a Pontiac G6 around Oregon for a couple of days. It seemed like a pretty solid car.

Get the Accord, you'll never regret it...235,000 miles and 15 years later mine is still going strong with little but regular maintenance. I still have my original clutch. If you can't buy new, then buy a 2- or 3-year old Accord. Mine with 200K survived the 50 hour death drive evacuating Hurricane Rita. I'm saving up for an Acura RL now.

I got a new Civic a couple of months ago and it's a pretty nice ride. I drove a Fusion on one of my business trips and it wasn't bad. It actually looks pretty sharp... but it is a Ford.

I test drove one last week. Handles decently. Stylewise, it reminds me of an older (late '80s) Benz 124 body, the 300E, a pretty classy benchmark for Ford. I didn't particularly care for the layout of the dash/instrumentation, too basic. The Fusion is alright but..............for reasons mentioned above, I think I'll pass.

Father has the S-Type V-8 60,000 dollar car and he had trans problems after 1 1/2 years.

Methinks there has been a great deal of cross-pollenization since the big Ford/Volvo/Jaguar corporate polygamous marriages.

Once Ford bought Jaguar, they started looking like a glorified Taurus. Of course there's still some of the jag looks, but the overall look is just too "Ford".

Sister has a Volvo and after the warranty went out she had electrical problems...LOL I felt bad because I got them discounts with my A Plan..but hey they wanted the heaps. I warned them! Ford car division has the microsoft approach to car building..just push a product out and we will fix the bugs later.

Except for the Mustang. They have a separate group in charge of that car. I got a survey on my 2005 after I had it 6 months. I had two suggestions for improving it - they called me up and ask lots of questions about why I thought they would be good additions to the vehicle.

Still, Ford > GM. Any day.

I've never owned a Mercury, but i think the Milan is a nice looking car, 'specially in Black.

I rented a Fusion fairly recently. It was all looks. Didn't handle well, didn't accelerate well. Didn't seem like it would last long - the interior didn't seem durable.

actually it was the S 60..that is the only problem that she had with it thus far..but she was rather ticked that she had to fork out $750 bucks. I forgot exactly what it was , i think it was some type of regulator.
