What is a fair price to pay for babysitting 3 kids for 5 hours? Kids are age 9, 8, and 4? How much per hour is fair? I was thinking 10 bucks per hour?

Dunno, I am doing research for a relative.

I'd pay 40 or 50 bucks for the 5 hours.

i'm thinking there's a reason i've never done babysitting... I'd probably want $75. ($5 per kid per hour) But of course, I'm used to charging $24-$30 an hour for horn lessons...

It depends.

If the sitter sits around, and makes sure they dont hurt each other, burn the house down, etc, I'd pay $30-40.

If the sitter has to feed them, clean up after them, play with them, etc, I'd do minimum of $50.

Just depends. Do you know the sitter well? Is he/she going to actually keep the kids preoccupied, put them to bed, etc? Or are they more likely to just put in a movie for them and get on the phone/computer?

I was thinking 10 bucks per hour?It all depends on who is doing the babysitting and how experienced they are. I know we have a drop in daycare center that we use in Katy, and I can put all three of my kids in there for about $11 an hour. When my niece babysits for us, we usually get about a $20 gift certificate to a scrapbook store she likes, since my sister won't let us pay her.

$5 per kid per hour is the going rate around here. That's what we pay our sitter, and she's worth every last penny. Most responsible teenager I've ever met, period, and all kids love her. She's saving the money for a car, and based on her workload, she'll be able to pay cash for a pretty decent one by the time she goes to college.

$10/hr? $5/kid/hour?

i'm in the wrong racket...if i could stand to be around kids for more than 5 minutes, i'd start baby sitting......

We pay $8/hr for the two rug rats. That's been the price both of the baby sitters we've used have asked for.
