Members of the household stated "Ol Vet" had consumed a large quantity of alcohol before he accidentally cut off all four fingers of his left hand with a table saw while working on an ongoing home improvement project.

There is evidence he had also disabled the tool's safety fence in order to save time. Medical staff at the Regional Medical Center were unsuccessful in re-attaching the severed fingers because family pets carried away three of them and the fourth was stepped-on and ruined by the victim as he staggered around the workshop shouting expletives in the wake of the accident.

I made one small cut with my table saw once and mid-cut I realized I didn't have my glasses on and ended up putting two splinters into my right eye. I spent the next two weeks going to my eye doctor before I could see out of it again.
