How old is she? When I was about 12 one of my friends used that spray on hair lightener and it turned it orange. ORANGE.

I hope you are being sensitive and sympathetic to her predicament.

If by sensitive and sympathetic, you mean posting about it on the internet, then yes, yes he is.

For big bucks, a good hairdresser could probably fix it.

Or she could just shave it off.

ummm...that would be "dyed"...see the way you spelled it reads like someone passed, and that is freaky especially when you don't read the whole title!

She's 15, and OF COURSE I'm being sympathetic. Sympathetic is my middle name.

Dang it, Mrs Howzit and I just got back from dinner and it's not as orange as it was...I was hoping to get weeks entertainment of entertainment from this. :D It's actually looking blonde now. Since it's DYED.

;)

Tell her to stay out of the pool for a few days. My mom put highlights in my hair once when I was in middle school a few days before school started and I went swimming and it turned GREEN where the highlights were....BRIGHT GREEN!!!! I went to the first day of 8th grade with GREEN streaks in my hair. Club soda helps by the way, with lemon (this is the one and ONLY time lemons are better than limes)

She could always go Sinead. For a girlio, "Sineading" provides added benefit of cutting morning "get-ready" time by 66%.

Not true. As a kidney stoner, here's another area where lemons are better.

Also, I would say that lemons are better in restaurant water than limes. I always order water with lemon when I go out to eat b/c tap water tastes like carp and the lemon neutralizes the metal taste. On occasion a restaurant will bring limes and they don't do near the job.

Oh, and don't believe their crap about tea and coffee possibly reducing chances of stones. My dad gets crazy kidney stones from drinking tea.

If "PRELL" shampoo can still be found...this works wonders. It strips any hair color from your hair! Good Luck!

Plus, a pearl dropped in the top of a bottle of "Prell" slowly floats to the bottom.

I have no idea how that was relevant to Prell being good shampoo, but it certainly featured prominently in their ad campaigns in the 60's and 70's.

Yep, I always used to drop my pearls into Prell. Or not.

She needs to get a color correcting shampoo. There is one called Clairol Shimmer Lights that she can pick up at Sally Beauty Supply. Since her hair turned orange, she should get one with a blue base because blue and orange are complementary colors and thus neutralize each other. (If it ever goes too yellow, you use the purple shampoo.)

She should just wash her hair with that for the next couple weeks. Tell her to leave the shampoo in her hair for five minutes the first time she uses it.

Or just leave it orange and laugh at her. That's what my dad would have done.

Don't be my dad, Howzit.

When I bleached my hair a couple months back, it was pretty orange at first, too. It softened out, though, after awhile. Maybe hers will, too.
