If that happens, what's next, is it ok for men to rub anal lube all over each other?

So we'd need more "guest workers"

If gas hits $10 per gallon, I would hope there would be some serious effort put into upgrading mass-transit systems so that wouldn't become an issue. ;)

If gas hits $10 per gallon, I would hope there would be some serious effort put into upgrading mass-transit systems so that wouldn't become an issue. ;)And that would work great for commuters going to the same places. Or, we could offer tax incentives and ease restrictions to allow more domestic drilling and refining, lowering the cost of gas. Wake up lefties, here we go again.

here's a site for affordable cruisers for those that aren't into status symbols, or those who are happy with the size of their weenis.

When gas hits $10 per gallon all the domestic drilling we can manage won't drop prices that far since - as has been hashed over before - the big choke point is refining capacity, not oil production.

The other big issue is that no thought went into properly designing communities in this country. Especially since we had so much land area we sprawled out so it's impossible to get anywhere without driving. That added to the fact that huge residential developments and giant mega-marts mean that many times there aren' any convenient stores for miles around your house.

Take London for example. You don't have to drive at all to get around in London. Partly because it's crammed in a much smaller area than most cities of that population in this country, but also because there's usually a much better mixture of residences and shops so driving isn't necesarry - that probably comes from it growing out of several smaller villages that ran together. Plus most of London's development took place before mechanical modes of transport existed - they couldn't travel very far very easily. Add that to a mass transit system that's convenient enough to move people in between the neighborhoods in London, and a car becomes a luxury item, not a necessity.

It was really early when I found that so I re-read it again and I now see how at $2.50 to $3.00 per gallon this Loungechickenblogger thinks we are a sinking ship.

Gee...I thought things have never been better.

I hear in Kalifornication they are using cordless drills to put a hole in your gas tank and drain your fuel.

That Ducati is nice looking...

No way I can ride one of those for more than 30 minutes anymore.

Gonna have to find a cruiser.

Sucks getting old when it comes to bikes...but it has come down to this.

This pole isn't helping me either...I want to spend $6-8,000 and the votes say it's OK to get a $2000.

I may have to start up some troll accounts to prove my point. ;)

troup i know you've done your homework on cruisers, but have you thought about an 03 v-star? i think you could find one, or a bike comparable to that for about $4,000-$5,000. i saw an 02 shadow 750 for $3,500.

Hmmm... you might like some books by James Kunstler - 'The Geography of Nowhere' and 'Home From Nowhere' - that are all about human ecology and the modern auto suburb.
