Cool! Neat place.

But...if you get the opportunity, go tour West Point. It's amazing!
Watching The Long Gray Line on Dress Parade with the band playing the West Point March (Kills the trumpeters, listen and you'll hear why.) hearing the Hellcats play the Corps to chow, Flirtation Walk, the graves of heros, the view of the Hudson River, WOW!
If it doesn't make you proud to be an American your soul is dead and you ought to be deported.

Give a listen (use headphones)! BTW, "Army Blue" comes from a Union Army favorite, "Aura Lee", and so Elvis WASN'T the first to use the melody, LOL!
In fact, my HS (San Antonio MacArthur) Alma Mater, "In Halls Of Honor" was set to the tune before Ol' Pelvis got hold of it.

The Air Force Academy is beautiful. My daughter's team played in a couple of tournaments on the soccer fields there. Well run.

The Olympic Training Center is also worth a look. One of the dad's on the team was the college roommate of the men's swim coach, so we got a private tour and were able to meet some of the athletes.

Garden of the Gods is worth it. You can drive through it.
The cave just on the west side of Colorado Springs is interesting.
There is a gorgeous hotel with a huge lake - can't remember the name. Famous (but I can't remember the name !), historic, fun to look at for adults.
Didn't make the zoo there.

The Broadmoor--2 pretty decent mountain golf courses as well.

One interesting story about that cave. The stactities and stalagmites in that cave are not natural. They were shipped in and placed there. Colorado has some nice caves, but they are not the type of places that form great cave architecture (i.e. stalactites, etc.).

On a ski trip we flew into Colorado Springs to meet friends before driving to Crested Butte. One winter night we drove out of Colorado Springs into the mountains to gamble at Cripple Creek. Cold as heck, Partied like crazy....the one lane tunnel was a surprise too.

The caves in Missouri are prettier.
I don't remember them saying anything about bringing in cave parts - though I can see why they wouldn't.

And the Cog Railway to the top of Pike's Peak is/was owned by the Gaylords...
