Number 1, as if there was ever any doubt, AOL.
What would you add to the list?

I would have said WebTV, but I see that it is on the list of (dis)honorable mention.

They might be underrating Windows Me.

AOL wasn't always that bad... before PPP took off it was pretty cool
the Zip drive wasn't nearly as bad as the Jazz drive, but if the LS120 had come a little earlier, Zip would have never taken off
Comet Cursor and Bonzi Buddy should be higher

My last job at Gateway was to lead a team designing a competitor to WebTV. The first time I've felt doomed on a project the second I heard about it.

The fact that you were the team leader should've been the first clue.

Hmmm...Looking back on it, I seem to have bought down Tandy, AST and Gateway...
I should take bids from companies to work for their competitor. I'd make a fortune! :D
Where would eukaryotic cells be without the endoplasmic reticulum?
THAT'S RIGHT! Maybe the whole organelle structure was flawed to begin with. I mean, why all the Prokaryotic discrimination?
That's just cockytalk.

Finally, proof that it pays to be behind the times: I never owned any of that crappy stuff!
Now if i can just find the keys to my Ford Pinto, I'll go home.

I couldn't agree with you more. My policy on any new technology that I've ever thought about purchasing is to wait until it becomes a stable product at a decent price.

So are you putting your collection of 8-track tapes up for sale?

Egg thread?

since I'm not quite old enough to remember 8-tracks, I don't have any to sell.
I did have a car with an 8 track player in high school. I used it as a sandwich holder.
However, I have a wonderful collection of dubbed cassettes that I wouldn't mind selling off....

Luckily you can upconvert them to 13" hardies with little to no effort.

I've owned several of those at one time or another including AOL, the Timex watch thing, and I had a Packard Bell with a version of "Bob."
The very first thing I thought off when I read the title was #20 on their list. The infamous cuecat.

What does it do, cruise around robotically cleaning the inside of a chick's hoo-hah?
Real Player should be 1A on that list.

The College of Business Administration at TU still uses Realplayer.

Heh.
From the Apple Pippin write-up: Underpowered, overpriced, and underutilized--that pretty much describes everything that came out of Apple in the mid-90s.

i can't quite grasp why iSMELL didn't succeed with all the pron sites.
So how many on the list are we guilty of having? Other than some of the obvious ones (Real).
AOL - I only used this at my Mother-in-laws house b/c they don't have the internet and my local ISP didn't have business there. I did it twise, but fortunately was never billed.
Windows ME - Horrible. One of the reasons I upgraded to my current pc.
Cuecat - They were free in Radio Shack. Matter of fact, I just found it the other day and threw it away.
Free PC's - My second PC was an HP I got through the MSN deal. It SUCKED being locked into that for so long, b/c DSL prices were affordable for about a year before I got out of my contract, so I was stuck with dial up.
i can't quite grasp why iSMELL didn't succeed with all the pron sites.
Then they would have had to rename the cuecat.

The only one of those I had was the Cuecat and that's only because it came free with some magazine I subscribed to. Threw it away without bothering to even open it up.
