The Rasslin Thread Got Me Thinking...

...has anybody else been pretty much glued to VH1 the last couple of days for their "METAL: The History Of Heavy Metal Music" stuff? I have. I don't think I've done much of anything since I saw that show on late last night.

I wasnt or am not a metal fan but I found myself watching it...along with the supergroup thing

Not sure if we're talking about the same show on VH1. Flipped through some stuff the other day and saw them talking about Kiss, Poison, etc. Same thing, or not. Because if it is, that show kind of annoyed me. I dont really consider those bands 'metal'. I was discussing this with a friend, and he summed it up quite nicely:


This was not metal. This was p***y arena-rock. But VH1 and half the population insists on grouping it into metal. No. Wrong. P***y arena-rock. You can't possibly compare these bulls**t glam-b***h bands with actual metal. What was actual metal, in the 80's? Anthrax, Slayer, Judas Priest. There were so few metal bands, they were hardly noticed.
