The Lips on a talk show just doesn't cut it. They need the full spectacle behind them, and most importantly, a crowd that gives them energy back. And I'm thinking your average "Tonight Show" audience member doesn't fit that mold. :D

OK, that was awesome... ...if you were already a Lips fan. I think they're going to have a hard time bringing in new people who've never heard of them with performances like tonight's and the one on Letterman, but the beautiful thing is that I don't think they give a ****.
