Is it just me or does it seem like when we get up on a team over the past couple of years Stoops is reluctant to "step on their throats" and put teams away? If so, is that up to Stoops or was it Chuck who had the decision of whether to keep trying to score when we were up semi-comfortably? I only ask cus it seems to me like we have had several chances to put teams away and cut off any hope they may have had but instead we sit on the ball, what do you guys think???

I have noticed our inability to put teams away starting late in 2004 (OSU,A&M) and during all of 2005.

I would place more blame on our D, particularly the secondary, giving up big plays to let the other team back into the game.

Last year our inexperience and poor O-line play was the main culprit. In 2004, it was our pass D (thanks Bo Pellini).

We'll be back in 2006.

I would put the blame on Chuck 3rd and Long

Stupika is behind all this

Hopefully we will put them away this season.

I would place it on Chuckie. Started playing too conservative, and that caused our offense to become uncomfortable and make mistakes. He's owned up a couple of times for blowing play calling.

cept against LSU, he never accepted that blame did he?

You can trace it back to that game, even though we did not play for over 20 minutes of that game. After that, we get up 2 tds and it was totally conservative, couple that with Long's predictable play calling and the end of the killer instinct was gone. Hopefully with KW we will get that killer instinct back and throttle some people, starting with UAB.

Suprisingly enough he did accept it. Ask Kejuan Jones.

the only question want to ask kejuan is what round he was drafted in.
dangit I can't help but really like kejuan though

If I was an O Coordinator, I'd use the Mike Leach approach and keep throwing to the end zone.

why not execute plays first big OR small and not try to make something spectacular?

I hope you are excluding 2005 from this theory....the problem in 2005 was inconsistency in execution of plays due to inexperienced personnel.
