Depends on which scotch you use. Dewars and Chivas make great soda drinks. But you wouldn't want to ruin a single malt by putting something in it.

I happen to think that MacAllan 12 is the best drink ever. By itself. In a snifter. With an Excalibur No. 1. :D

A close second is Remy Martin VSOP cognac.

You'll have to be more specific. You've left a dangling pronoun. :D

I find Oban to be a little too grassy. I prefer Cragganmore (more peat), Macallan cask strength, or Glenkinchie.

Sheesh, I usually buy 100 Pipers; it's $6.49 a fifth at the local grocery store. :O :D

I guess a scotch and soda is to TU what a rum and coke is to me. :D

Best rum out there is a Haitian brand called Barbancourt. Hard to find, but it can't be beat.

I haven't had rum since my last birthday when I tried to re-enact the drinks from our honeymoon in Hawaii- 4 types of rum over 5 drinks! I passed out around 9:45.

Ever try "N.O." rum. It's supposedly made in the "original way" from sugar cane molasses or something. I'm not a rummy.

I tried some Old Russia vodka, distilled in OKC. Cold shots from the freezer were pretty good. Baczewski (sp?) potato vodka was also good that way.

I only drink Cutty Sark scotch solely because of the movie Goodfellas.

I used to drink that back in college, before I realized what *good* scotch was. Cutty is weak and watery, and way overpriced.

Scotch is an acquired taste that I haven't had the time to acquire. I am too busy enjoying vodka and tequila. Not mixed mind you. I think that my sister grabbed the bottle of Royal Salute that my dad gave to my mom the first year that they introduced it. That had to be in the early 80's.

Get some Johnnie Walker Blue Label and forget the soda. It's like $250 a bottle though.
