AKRON, Ohio (AP) -- An appeals court ordered the release of a 14-year-old girl who had been jailed for 12 days after she ran away to avoid testifying against the man accused of molesting her...
...The girl's mother initially favored the incarceration, saying jail was the safest place for her daughter and it kept her from running away again. The mother said Monday that if it was illegal to jail her daughter, she supported the decision to release her.
"I hope she's learned her lesson," the mother said. "But I will be there for her, support her and love her."
What lesson? Don't run away in fear of testifying against someone you're afraid of, or your arse goes to jail?
