dwarves than you can help!
Dwarves! said Bilbo in pretended surprise.
Dont talk to me! said Smaug. I know the smell (and taste) of
dwarf-no one better. Dont tell me that I can eat a dwarf-ridden pony
and not know it! Youll come to a bad end, if you go with such friends.
Thief Barrel-rider. I dont mind if you go back and tell them so from me.

Somehow it got out that I'm looking for some black market C / A L / S and
L E V / T R A. OTOH, they did include some dwarven goodness.

You know, dwarves don't like to be called 'midgets'.

I learned this from watching 'Little People Big World' on TLC.

They also have problems with ear infections and reaching things. :mack:

Why does TLC never do a show on elves? Are they just not as defensive or demanding as dwarves?

Mean people dress dwarves up like gnomes and make the stay in their flower beds.

A few weeks ago, I was in Lowes with my 6 year old son and there was a dwarf dude at the checkout counter. I could tell my son was looking at him and I was scared to death he was going to say something embarrassing. To his credit, he waited until we were in the car and then wanted to talk about it. A few nights later we went back and when we got back to the car, he noted that the dwarf wasn't there that night. With a completely innocent expression, he looked at me and said "It must have been past his bedtime". :D I had to explain again that the guy was an adult and so it was probably not past his bedtime.

It's not always too bad...I mean, that one dwarf got dressed up as a gnome and now he does commercials for that travel company (I can't think of the company right now...)

I actually just got the same email with this at the end:

either side of the valley could come at last to the help of the battle
below.
But even with the Eagles they were still outnumbered. In that last
hour Beorn himself had appeared €“ no one knew how or from where. He came
alone, and in bears shape; and he seemed to have grown almost to
giant-size in his wrath. The roar of his voice was like drums and guns;
