Watch the waters warm:

That green 27 degree line is where the ocean is sufficiently warm to
support tropical cyclone activity today.

Slick... How far are you from the coast and do you leave or stay?

I'm 3-4 miles inland, but leave for a cat 3/4/5.

Scalded is 3-4 miles inland as well, but his elevation is about 15 feet above
MSL, while I'm about 65 feet. He left too.

PAT ROBERTSON WAS RIGHT!

I'm a little over 10 miles in. I don't leave. I'd leave too at 3 or 4 miles though. If a strong 5 was coming I'd start thinking a little harder about going.

Yeah, but he'll pray the storms away.

Brother, if a bonafide four or five is coming, GET THE FARK OUT!!!!!!

The winds for Katrina were solid cat 3, all the way to Hattiesburg, MS.
That's 90 miles inland. Major damage that far inland. We didn't have
electricity for two weeks, and the gasoline shortages made generators
worth very little. Sitting around in 90+ degrees every day with no AC,
Water, electricity ain't worth it.

Yeah, but he'll pray the storms away.
He'll just pray 'em away from VA Beach and toward evil and degenerate New Orleans.

Ivan was about as close as you can get to a 5 without being one. It was kinda scary but I hate leaving. I grew up right on the coast and I'm further inland than where we used to evacuate to now.
