Okay this is truly a WTF? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raw_foodist)A buddy of mine has done this for 6 months and looks like he is a Auschwitz survivor. I'm no Johnny-Healthy-Bod, but hell, when do you get the train of thought that cooked steak will kill you? He actually says that we're all addicted to cooked food.

I've heard of this before. Supposedly it's something about the chemicals that are released from cooking which are bad for you. I don't know; I think it's all a load of sheet.

Heh... He used to just look at my food like I was so dumb. I'm like I know it's a corn dog, and if I'm addicted, then your obsessed and need a real hobby.

SOrry Latent annoyance.

My great grandma lived to be 100+; I'm pretty sure she cooked almost everything she ate.

It's sad to see someone addicted for that long.

it probably has something to do with the fact that proteins denature when heated - and why eat anything that isn't of nutritional value (like an overcooked piece of meat).

whatever floats their boat. i'll take mine medium.

I read a book once about a boy who got lost on his family's ranch out in the boonies and ended up kinda living with badgers... they sortof adopted him. and he ate raw meat the whole time and was really sick when he got back because of some sort of vitamin deficiency or something... don't know if it's true, but i bet that kid looked like an Auschwitz survivor too

i don't it was the raw meat that caused the vitamin deficiency...

Whats the point of living til' 100+ if: a) you physically come to resemble a praying mantis, b) everyone thinks you are wierd and c) your idea of a fun night out is grazing the produce section of the nearest organic food grocer.

Of all the species on Earth, God gave fire only to we humans. He also exclusively embued us with a desire to use fire to cook our food. Therefore, by definition, the so-called "raw foodists" are heretics and they should all be burned as witches. :D

but she also didn't eat the ****ty food that people eat today. The chemicals, preservatives, processed sugars, high fat, high carbs, high caffeine, aspartame, splenda (which by the way people, is still not good for you), its too early to mention all of them...

simple answer, cook your food or don't, but buy organic, and stop eating at the places that don't serve organic.
