I just got back from having coffee with one of my best friends this afternoon. She got there and I asked how things were going with her boyfriend (whom she's been dating for 3 1/2 months). She said, "REALLY well" and held up a hand with an engagement ring on it. :eek:


Now, this might not sound very shocking to you all, but let me give you some background on my friend (who just turned 21 over spring break):

--Up until this last fall she had never had a boyfriend; her first boyfriend lasted all of a month or two until she broke up with him "because he's a woman."

--she had never kissed a guy up until 3 1/2 months ago when she began dating her Colombian boyfriend (now fiance)

I'm not jealous, i'm stunned. Last year she was freaking out because one of her best friends from high school was getting married and she thought they were too young. Now SHE'S getting married and it's a little odd.

oh, and the ring's not that big. it's a small diamond. His family doesn't have much money, actually.

Honestly, that came to my mind too and I REALLY hope that's not why he wants to marry her. I really really do. I'm supposed to meet him later in the summer... so we'll see what he's like. But aparently my friend's family loves the guy too, so hopefully he's not scamming all of them.

Cameron has never been in love - at least, nobody's ever been in love with him.
