PAULS VALLEY -- A bomb scare caused the evacuation of the Garvin County Courthouse for about two hours Thursday morning.
Sheriff's deputies and Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers did not find an explosive device and were allowing people to re-enter the building by noon, said Sheriff Bill Roady.
"Everything else checked out fine and we are back to business as usual," he said.
The building was cleared about 10 a.m. after someone called a local attorney's office and the local newspaper, the Pauls Valley Daily Democrat, reporting a bomb in the courthouse, Roady said.
A short piece of metal pipe was found in a tree in front of the building, but it was hollow, Roady said.
The threat also forced school officials to evacuate students at nearby Pauls Valley Junior High.
and nearly all of the evacuated jr. high kids were in mazzios at lunch...oh so much fun
