A while back a guy showed me a way to clear out the start up menu. It seems like it was a dos prompt type thing but I don't remember. I've got so much crap opening on start up that it takes forever to turn on my puter. These are things that aren't in the normal programs menu start up area.

Is it under C/Docs and Settings/User Name/Start Menu/Programs/Startup ?

Isn't that a registry thing?

Right-click "My Computer" and select "Manage".

In the Computer Management window select System Tools -> System Information -> Software Environment -> Startup Programs.

You can download this. It will show ALL your startups, not just the ones in the startup menu.

Be careful, though. You can screw your machine pretty easily if you don't know what you're doing.
