that's historically the people who don't speak Greek in the ancient literatures. barbarian is an onomatopoeia....since people who don't speak Greek say "bar-bar-bar" (aggies of the ancient world, say). onomatopoeia is also a Greek word that means onoma (name) and poeia (poesy, if you will)...where sound and name are the same.

at least they were more civilized than the anglos or the saxons...must be because they were celts.
