I sat behind a young woman during my last final who had one visible above her waist-bandless jeans. Looked like it started out as a butterfly a few years ago. Now it looks like a pair of tennis rackets.

Prolly a good idea to make sure he signs an authorization letter. The NBA is pretty hard on unauthorized uses of their players' images.

I would've gone with but I'm at work until 4 today.

let me give ya'll a rundown of the events so far as I know them:
She breaks up with boyfriend, chats up your hero at the bar, gets a tattoo all within a week.

This has allsome written all over it (right above her crack)

By the way, there is nothing wrong with a girl getting a tattoo. Nothing at all. It doesn't "mean" anything now days. Other than she wants a tattoo and maybe it has some special meaning to her.

You really should offer to go with her if no one is....it could be a good story later on.

Oh, I have no problem with girls that have tattoos.

I have one myself and if I didn't have somewhat of a professional job I'd have em all down both arms like sleeves.

Sugerbritches, I can't go with her, I'm stuck at work. She'll already have my target on her before I leave.

My intentions? Well, I never get into anything that I don't think could be long term. I'd like to get to know her and see if we're compatable and have some fun and some companionship and to have secks during it all. Until she dumps me.

I'm not sure that anyone should be telling someone that tats are a sin.

I just prefer to find my enjoyment in life by remembering the wonderful times in life through a series of I'll show you my scar if you show me yours while drinking a nice bottle of scotch.

I'm not sure what you'd have to drink in order to enjoy a nice night of branding.

It's not that its a sin -- unless you're an observant Orthodox Jew. The thing is, why do something to permanently affix a popular fad to your bod? It seems analagous to consigning yourself to wearing a "Members Only" jacket of "Jordache" jeans forever and never being able to take them off.

You shall not eat any flesh with the blood in it. You shall not interpret omens or tell fortunes. 27 You shall not round off the hair on your temples or mar the edges of your beard. 28 You shall not make any cuts on your body for the dead or tattoo yourselves: I am the Lord.
-- Leviticus 19:26-28

It was a sin in the OT, at least. The reason is, the pagan nations surrounding Israel tattooed themselves for religious and cultural reasons, and the Israelites were to separate themselves from the pagan culture (i.e., be holy) under the Law. So, no tatts.

As to whether tatts indicate pagan culture today, there is disagreement. However, I don't run into too many believers who have tatts that they got *after* they became Christians. I think the connotation of tatts these days mitigates against getting them, from a Biblical point of view.

I guess I should have said' Getting a tattoo is no different according to the book of Leviticus than eating shellfish'.

Leviticus 11:9-12 says:
9 These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.
10 And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:
11 They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.
12 Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

Dispute that.

I don't judge certain tats as evil or sinful.

My reason is simple.

Some are for the representation of good IMO.
