I never actually thought it would happen but Nebraska looked past Osborne's football success and retained our current govenor.

A democrat in Nebraska is further to the right than most Republican's. That and I needed something to do this spring. Nelson will be re-elected in the fall because Ricketts isn't that strong of a candidate.

As beloved as Switzer is his political endorsement has failed to have any impact on local political races. Toby Keith and Switzer both lined up against Thad Balkman in East Norman and Balkman still won in a landslide.

Switzer endorsed several other candidates who got trounced in November 2004 as well. Many credit Switzer for helping Brad Henry win office and he may have. I believe more credit belongs to Henry's hard campaign work and lack thereof on behalf of Steve Largent.

If the King ran for office in Oklahoma I believe he too would fail to win - unless he switched parties.

Tommy Frazier and his Sooner OC better kick it in gear at my alma mater. 2-8's with losses to Dana, Hastings, and both Nebraska and Dakota Weslyan are not acceptable. For us Doane alums, that's the equivalent of OU getting beat by Texas, Nebraska, Okie State and Baylor in one year.
