Apparently, from what I've heard from a woman I know that's in Toronto right now, one can buy Fries & Gravy flavored potato chips there. Lay's makes them.

I desperately want a bag case of these. Anyone know how I can get my hands on this delicacy? Short of going to Canada, of course.

TIA!

When I was in England in 2000 I got hooked on Walkers Crisps (http://www.walkers-eathappy.co.uk/flavour_debate.php). They're the UK version of Lays, made by the same company. But they have great flavors like beef & onion, prawn cocktail, and smoky bacon.

The ones I really got hooked on were salt and vinegar. Fortunately that flavor got hot in the U.S. shortly after. These days I enjoy Miss Vickie's version. But for a short while I would go to Canterbury, located on Classen to get my fix. It's connected to a Persian rug shop. The wife of the guy who imports the rugs is from England, and she imports all sorts of British Isles and Australian specialties (vegemite, anyone?).

You can get a steak and kidney pie in the cafe, or McVitie's digestives (basically chocolate-covered graham crackers) among other things, but I would literally buy a couple dozen or so bags of Walkers Crisps, in assorted flavors. Good stuff.

hell, thing to do is get a beater non-stick skillet at Target and slice potatoes or yams (yam chips rule) as thin as possible. lightly fry those bad boys up in a little XVOO, put em on a plate to dry, and sprinkle them with salt and balsamic.

i'm telling you, best chip you'll ever have.

I love the vinegar and salt potato chips too. I seldom eat fried potatos but if I do I always put malt or organic rice vinegar on them instead of ketchup.
