The fact that UM has been ranked #1 68 times is nuts considering that they didn't even make a splash until the 1980's.

How did Bama win 43 national championships when it was only ranked number 1 for 31 polls?

I think we've matched in a decade what Oklahoma State has done in a lifetime.

Yep. They're tied with Ball State, Idaho, and Western Michigan for #1 rankings.

Did you see the last time aTm was #1? Yowza!!

It's clear who the #1 & #2 teams are... same as the list on the other thread. Isn't it great to be a Sooner?!?!?!

Florida State's last time to be ranked - January 5, 2000

Aw, what happened after that?

It would be awesome if FSU never got back to #1.

Man...what could have been. If not for the lost decade, we could be the clear leader.

Oh well, no use crying over spilt milk. Time to bump up the numbers this year.

Absolutely, but on top of that...I say we clear the century mark before the season is over!!!

haha it gives me a good little chuckle to scroll down and see the ags in stoolwater down at the bottom, I just don't wanna hear their argument that they have more national championships than any other university in all sports combined. If more than 15,000 people showed up to every one of those events throughout the seasons maybe i'd give a fart.

I would think it was pretty funny if we won it all in wrestling though, just to stick it to em even harder.

Honestly, before 1950 they were using leather helmets. You have to have a cut-off point. Since the advent of real football, OU and USC are the most dominate teams.

There's an argument to be made that "real football" was when you could put your forearm on someone's nose, instead of trying to hit someone wearing a Texas Tech Vader-style superhelmet.

There's also an argument that African American's are pretty good football players.

And if anybody here disputed that, that point might have a place in this thread.
