I loved the fountains. I remember that Renberg's was right underneath that monster staircase that I was too scared to walk down.

I actually preferred the '70s wood look to the new marble stuff.:O

I always thought the forum downtown was cool. Used to hang there after church.

I'm sure if you tell the judge that you're fully rehabilitated, he'll rescind the order...

Can you still ice skate downtown?

No, Williams gutted the joint in the mid 90's and made it into prime class "A" office space for its energy trading & fiber operations.

Orbach's had a reunion this past week in Edmond with all their former employees. Pretty nice writeup in the Sunday Oklahoman.

Yeah, those were nice. I remember my brothers and I playing in them back in the day and pretending they were Star Wars space ships.

I was hoping to see a picture of Tilt in there. 1976 might have been a bit early for an arcade, though.

I have no idea if Orbach's was at Woodland, but thought since their first stand alone store was in Tulsa it belonged in here.

I did and I was wrong.

Just some of them are shutting down.

And by 'some' I mean 'the one by my house'...

ahem 80's n00bs...In '76 it was about Earth Shoes, "muscle shirts," "big bell" Levi's, and righteous eight-track tapes.

Yes, but my Sanger Harris joke moved the realm of joking forward to the mid-80's.

So SUCK IT, History Boy. :D

Okay, I just made my husband suffer through a rundown of the stores at Woodland Hills back then. Poor guy. "But see, the mall ended where Abercrombie is now! It used to be a Furr's!". I'm obviously pathetic.

And no more Sanger Harris jokes. For some reason I was devastated when it changed to Foley's. Don't ask. But I got my super-cool Guess jeans at Sanger...:D

My dear Grandmother used to work in the toy department at Brown's in downtown OKC. It was so cool to go there to see her, they still had elevator operators back then who would call out the flor and what was on it. "Floor 3, toys." sweeeet!

I got nuthin and don't even know where the Woodland Mall is, I'll guess Houston.

Ah, the memories. I worked at WH back in the day, afore the renovation. So did my wife. High school mall jobs had this magical quality (i.e., no slinging burgers or tacos). I had to stay 'til close a lot of evenings. Lemme tell ya, that mall was downright creepy at night with the lighting mostly off.

Logan's Run indeed. Ed Zachary what I thought back then.

I dated a girl whose dad was in charge of the renovation in the mid 90s or so. They had planned to actually add a floor to one part of the mall and add a hotel or something, but I guess they couldn't for what ever reason and then the mafia sold it to social security retirement fund or something like that.

No, Coach Stoops was at the Sports Fanatic and my friend said that if I came early I could see him before all the other people got there.

Well, its a long drive but I went there alone, against my sons advice, and just like everyone said, I got lost and then I couldnt find my car. The really nice security gentleman drove me around in his little vehicle that was so small I had to hold my purse in my lap. I found my car about half way on the other side, so no harm done. :)

Gee thank you, but so far no one has tried to have me committed. :P

I bet it was in the Pine Cone lot.

One of the first solo trips my mom let me take after I got my license was to Woodland Hills. I was so anal about the car that I parked it in the overflow lot that's only used during Christmas.
