If you can't stand having money in your wallet, Las Vegas is the place to go. Everything is expensive. Everybody expects a tip. I still had a blast anyway. :D

I stayed at The New York New York. That place is a mad house. People are everywhere, just like in New York. I didn't mind it most of the time, but sometimes I just wanted some peace and quiet. If you ever stay at the NYNY, I highly recommend shelling out the few extra dollars to get a "Deluxe" room. The deluxe rooms are on the upper floors and we had access to express elevators that bypassed the "riff raff" floors and took us straight to the deluxe floors. We had to share our elevator maybe three time the whole week. The regular elevators were packed everytime I saw them. The extra $20 or so extra a night for a deluxe room was well worth it.

As for gambling, the NYNY slots are extremely tight. We spent most of our gambling time next door at the Monte Carlo. Now that's a nice place. Everybody's laid back. I loved it. The slots and video poker were very loose. We walked away with more money in our pocket than we walked in with (of course our gambling budget was only $100). The final pull before we went to the airport got me $45. Not bad for a nickel machine. :D

The shows we saw were Zumanity, Bite (a topless vampire show at the Stratosphere), The Blue Man Group, and Lance Burton. I'll give my reviews of the shows at a later time.

Overall, I give Vegas 6 out of 5 stars. :texan:

The funniest thing to me was that people don't dress up for shows like I expected.

Some people will shell out $100 per ticket for a show but they'll show up wearing t-shirts, shorts, and tennis shoes. That just doesn't make sense to me.

We won money at the Monte Carlo. If you include the money we threw away at NYNY, I think we pretty much broke even.

I lost most of my money at Ceasar's Palace and the Mirage when we were there.

Everyone says they do better when they stay out of the big casinos.
