The political attack ads are getting ridiculous up here,(strictly republican on republican) So far we have
Tom Osborne apolgizing for a negative phone poll after he said he wouldn't campaign negatively
Pete Ricketts whose claim to fame is his Dad founded Ameritrade, and his nephew was a frequently burned cornerback for Nebraska, and his stupid tagline about being the grandson of a farmer. You live in Nebraska, pretty everybody has a Grandparent that was a farmer.
In the 3rd district race to replace Osborne, you have the ultra-rightwing and the super ultra-rightwing candidate.(That's Western Nebraska, there still a lot of people out there worried about the Protocols of the Elders of Zion and the Trilateral Commision) One of the candidates is hammering the other for being anti-ethanol(which is like being a proven baby kicker in Nebraska), while that candidate is trumpting his own ethanol credentials. That same candidate is railing against the liberal tax and spenders in the Senate(including pictures of Kerry, Hillary, and Ted on the screen, never mind the fact that he is running for the House, and there has been a Republican Majority for 10+ years) The 3rd District might elect a Democrat for the first time since the earth cooled just because the Republican's couldn't find a sane candidate.
Either way, only two more days and I can enjoy TV again without irritation.
