Now, hold on there, Lid - it didn't seem so much ghey, as bizarre.

So, how about, as weird as...

The article is about as brokeback as saying holla at the end of an email. Mack Brown may be a recruiting pony, but he not only recruits players, he is also good at recruiting coaches. We improved from horrible DC Carl Reese to good DC Greg Robison, then to a genius DC in Gene Chizik. Brown recruiting great coaches will be the ultimate factor in the Horns doing well.

and for this person to suggest that KSU is anything other than mediocre right now is deplorable.

Wow.

1) You don't "recruit" coaches. You hire them. Neither of your two most recent DCs, Chicklet & Temporary, were "discoveries" by Brown. They had impeccable resumes, and were logical choices to go after if you needed a DC, and had the money to lure 'em away.

2) Greg Davis.

That is pretty funny, I would venture to guess that most teams look to their head coach as the "ultimate factor" if a team wins or loses.

I guess you wouldn't mind one bit if Mack moved on, as long as his talented assistant coaches stuck around.

No, I would mind if Mack moved on, because he recruits the best players AND coaches, herego, he is the "ultimate factor" if we win or lose, because without him, we would not have the talented players or assistant coaches.

regarding Redsticksooner: And yes you recruit coaches, and anyone who doesn't think so has a permanent residence in lala land. Yes, you use money to lure them, that is part of "recruiting". If all we had to do was "hire" the best guy, then every college or business or whatever would just "hire" the best guy, but that is impossible and just asinine to say the least. You use your resources; whether it be money, atmosphere, personality, or any tool you may have to persuade them to come work for you.

Gene Chizik got basically the same compensation package here that he did with Auburn. You don't think getting him to make such a move took recruiting?

Not if you've ever been to Auburn.

Whatever. His official salary may have been similiar but I guarantee the Hicks and his fellow UT alum fatcats made sure Coach Gene knew the name of the tune playing......$$$$$$$$$$$$$

yeh and im thinkin that mack was playing a nice piece of music on the skin flute to get him there as well.

the funny thing bout this whole thread is the fact that these whorns here are saying macks first dc was terrible, the second was mediocre and the third was first rate. As i recall, several texas faithfull we're here not too long ago telling us since stoops has been our head man, they have lost only one or two more games than just us and that they were a top 10 team that just so happened to have to play a top 5 team every year. so, which is it? were they "let go" because they sucked or because they lost to OU AGAIN?

No, actually I was noticing your choker, covering your bow tie, and the gentlemen to your left with a longhorn (gag) emblem on his hat.

Really, you should keep the personal photo album photos off the public forums.
