on the end of the price of a gallon of gas?

My theory is that it is some kind of rounding screw job.

Anybody know?

Look it up some stations in California don't have it. Idaho did without it for four years you can price it anyway you want it.Yahoo why the nine on gasoline?

yeah, it's a rounding thing. but my grandpa ALWAYS says it when he talks about the price of gas. (which is OFTEN)
