View Full Version : Two things on Sooners in the draft

The 2001 recruiting class had 5 guys drafted from it. Lynn McGruder and Vince Carter signed Free Agent contracts last year and are still with those teams.
Also look at those drafted since 2000 29 players have been drafted. 9 are from Texas.
If you're going to do all that research, at least post the rest of it.

8 are from Oklahoma vs. 9 from Texas
Pretty good numbers for a progam who 'wins with Texas kids'.

Why do we care if these kids are from saxeT or Oklahoma...all that matters is what university they choose.

all kidding aside, it speaks volumes for the kind of program that Stoops has built here.

I am trying to think of how this is a subtle dig at Stoops for not developing talent and being a bad coach :P

pardon me for not giving a rats @$$ about the NFL, but didn't Jason White go to Tennessee or something before hanging up his guns? If so, should he be on the Nick list?

How did Nick's interview with IHOP go?
Sooner95

Yep, not drafted is correct, I remember becuase the backup at USC got drafted..
Every April, dozens of decorated players learn the hard way that collegiate success doesn’t always equate to a guaranteed contract. Witness Oklahoma’s Jason White, the 2003 Heisman winner, who failed to get drafted while Matt Cassel, the backup to 2004 Heisman winner Matt Leinart, did in the seventh round.

No doubt since the Texas fans say that OU is only good because they have Texas players. The Texas kids are good but kids from other states are big time contributors too including Oklahoma kids.
