keep it cold , then Foile or silvadine . has always worked for me .
Or you could just nut up and take the pain :D

Blister makes it second degree. Silvadene is presctiption only, but will be the best thing for it. see your doctor.

Noxema

Another tried and true cure is yellow mustard. My grandma's friend was a school cook and she would know.

A cook at Logan's Roadhouse was showing off for my son, causing flame-ups on the grill, and got burned. He had to cook with his hand in a bowl of icewater for a while.

ice water is actually a bad idea. cool water is best
do NOT put butter or any kind of oil on a burn.

Brat is correct if the burn is large don't cover with a heavy clothe. Use gauze and change it regularly. Butter is bad!!!

Silvadine hurts to get off its a bad burn. The burn center in Tulsa uses something now called silvasorb. If you were close I would bring you some.

actually its not. BUT its hard to find over the counter. They use it in burn centers and hospitals. Which they love because the DON'T have to go through pharmacy.

I wonder if I should see a doctor or if I should just deal with the pain. Are there any long term problems that may occur?

It's the shizzle its our product and it rocks your face off! Wait till she sees the silversorb sites for iv's and picc lines.

What hospital does she work at if you don't mind, and if its one of mine I will bring her some.

I also have nurses that use it on their acne and swear by it.

actually it may not be the same brand, but it's a product like that

she works at EOPC (St. Francis), has for like 25 years or something

In general:
-If it blistered, it's a least second degree (partial thickness).
-Cool water is/was the best idea.
-Keep the blister intact if you don't have any burn cream.
-See a doctor if it's all the way around the fingers/wrist (could lose circulation b/c of swelling), if it involves the skin over a joint (could result in decreased use of the joint), or if it's an area bigger than about the size of the palm of your hand.
-Suck it up, burns hurt! :D (okay, I made that up. If it really hurts that bad, go see your doc. Nothing will completely take the pain out of a burn, however.)

Any better, Balls? Better balls?

stop sticking your balls in the microwave, then! :D

But seriously, 1) aloe vera, 2) Scotch. For your insides, not your finger.

I think you should treat it the way you would like to be treated.

I normally cut the blister part off with nail clippers and then go show it to my wife. Be sure to make a noise like you're about to throw up and roll your eyes up into your head.

After that, rub some dirt on it and you'll be fine.

All this is assuming that you're a guy. Otherwise, you'll probably need to see a doctor or some such nonsense.

couple of minutes between the cheek and gum, then straight to the affected area.
