17-2 is the final of game 2 in the series...OU got a season high 24 hits and now has a 13 game winning streak... the longest in the nation!

SleestakSooner

Officials changed an error to a hit for Joe D. and we tied a record for most hits given up by KU at 25! ROFL

First pitch Caufield, Chuckie (http://www.soonersports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=2716&SPID=201&SPORT_TAB_SEL=02&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=300&ATCLID=88962&Q_SEASON=2005) smacks a double and then Reza, Aaron (http://www.soonersports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=2716&SPID=201&SPORT_TAB_SEL=02&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=300&ATCLID=190159&Q_SEASON=2005) is hit by a pitch, no outs men on frist and second!

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 03:38 PM
KU got a double play after Kaiser, Kody (http://www.soonersports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=2716&SPID=201&SPORT_TAB_SEL=02&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=300&ATCLID=88968&Q_SEASON=2005) struck out looking. Sandoval, P.J. (http://www.soonersports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=2716&SPID=201&SPORT_TAB_SEL=02&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=300&ATCLID=88982&Q_SEASON=2005) starting pitcher for this game.

Three up three down! On to the second inning.

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 03:51 PM
OU leaves one man on, heading to the top of the second.

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 03:58 PM
P.J. is pitching tough today, nothing close to a hit yet with two strike outs. Now if the offense can give him a lead! Moving on to the third inning still no score.

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 04:08 PM
Still no help for the starting pitcher now in the bottom half one out for KU.

"The last time OU won 13 consecutive games was during the 1985 season. That club strung together a 19-game winning streak before finishing with 55 wins (second most in program history)."

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 04:15 PM
P.J. gets another strikeout after two fly ball outs to end the third inning. OU-0 KU-0.

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 04:18 PM
Three up three down for OU, KU up to bat now in the bottom of the fourth.

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 04:36 PM
KU gets a one out single but can't move the runner and strand him on first. Fifth inning coming up.

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 04:39 PM
Ivey, Aaron (http://www.soonersports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=2716&SPID=201&SPORT_TAB_SEL=02&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=300&ATCLID=29809&Q_SEASON=2005) gets a two-out single but Caufield strikes out swinging on a hit and run. Still no score going to bottom of the fifth.

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 04:45 PM
well the bottom just fell out... Sandoval just gave up three hits in a row and KU has taken a 0-2 lead with no outs in the top of the fifth, man still on first.

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 05:01 PM
Looks like we will need another come-from-behind victory today. Sandoval was chased off the mound after giving up 5 hits in the inning and Brownell, John (http://www.soonersports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=2716&SPID=201&SPORT_TAB_SEL=02&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=300&ATCLID=88960&Q_SEASON=2005) promptly came in and gave up another double making it a five-run inning with two outs and a runner on third.

Sooner24
4/30/2006, 05:01 PM
Make it 5-0 and they are still batting.

Sooner24
4/30/2006, 05:01 PM

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 05:05 PM
Reza, Kaiser and Rohlinger, Ryan (http://www.soonersports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=2716&SPID=201&SPORT_TAB_SEL=02&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=300&ATCLID=29818&Q_SEASON=2005) batting in the bottom of the sixth now. Score OU-0 KU-5

Rain delay again but it's only a delay this time. http://sirocco.accuweather.com/nx_mosaic_640x480c/SIR/inmaSIRSC.gif

OU has already batted in their half of the inning. So the score is still 0-5 KU. Top of the sixth to begin after rain delay is over.

Rally caps?

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 05:37 PM
A one out homer makes it 0-6 but inning is now over on a double play and going into the seventh inning.

Come on Sooners get those bats working again!

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 05:48 PM
The first man up goes down... BUT THEN OU RUNS THE KU PITCHER OFF THE MOUND WITH TWO LONG BALLS!
Ivey just missed getting a double hitting a sharp out fly to the gap, a great grab by KU outfielder though.
Score now OU-2 KU-6 with two outs in the inning.

Seventh inning stretch after Caufield grounded out to third. The big bats are coming back up in the eighth.

COME ON SOONERS!

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 05:55 PM
KU gets a lead-off triple on a missed play by Kaiser in left field and a sacrifice fly to center makes it 2-7 KU with one out.

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 05:59 PM
A Browning strikeout and a nice catch in the corner by Caufield end the inning with no more damage done.

SeattleOUstudent

OU gets a run back. We need one of our signature come-backs...UT and NU both swept this weekend.

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 06:06 PM
A two-out Rohlinger home run makes it 3-7KU! OU needs some more two-out majic.

A blooping double down the left field line gives OU a man on second now with two outs!

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 06:08 PM
Another nice grab by the KU right fielder ends the rally. :( OU leaves a man on third but tightens the score with their third homer of the game.

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 06:10 PM
Savage, Will (http://www.soonersports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=2716&SPID=201&SPORT_TAB_SEL=02&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=300&ATCLID=88985&Q_SEASON=2005) in to pitch now trying to keep the deficit down to four runs.

First KU batter up flies out to right.

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 06:13 PM
Williams, Jackson (http://www.soonersports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=2716&SPID=201&SPORT_TAB_SEL=02&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=300&ATCLID=88983&Q_SEASON=2005), Dunigan, Joe (http://www.soonersports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPSID=2716&SPID=201&SPORT_TAB_SEL=02&DB_LANG=C&DB_OEM_ID=300&ATCLID=88963&Q_SEASON=2005) and Ivey up to bat in the ninth.

One out single gives the Jayhawks a runner with one out in bottom half of the eighth.

"why can't I get my top and bottom halves straight?"

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 06:15 PM
Savage can't find the plate suddenly and walks the next batter, KU now has men on first and second.

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 06:20 PM
Kaiser makes up for the earlier miscue and makes a nice sliding catch in left to hold runners. Then Savage gets his third fly-ball out in the inning to stop the threat.

Last chance for the Sooners with the score still 3-7 KU.

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 06:21 PM
Williams is hit by first pitch, man on first with Joe D. up again!

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 06:23 PM
5 pitch walk to Dunigan, men on first and second!

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 06:26 PM
Ivey hits into a double play but it's a bad call by the ref at second calling the man at first out due to interference by Dunigan when he went directly over the bag to take out the second baseman. :(

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 06:27 PM
Caufield batting now with a 1-2 count.

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 06:28 PM
good eye... 3-2

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 06:30 PM
Caufield fights off 4 pitches in a row foul.

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 06:32 PM
HOMER by Chuckie on the 11th pitch of the at-bat and OU is now only down two!!!!

SeattleOUstudent
4/30/2006, 06:33 PM
noble effort. Too bad UT and NU didnt drop any this weekend :(

SleestakSooner
4/30/2006, 06:34 PM
Reza flies out to shallow left on the first pitch swinging and the winning streak is over :(

Final score OU-5 KU-7.

On the bright side I believe OU set a new season high with four home runs in a game.
