Just talked to my cousin...he was riding his motorcycle a few days ago, making a right hand turn, going about 3 mph when some lady hit him from behind going about 45 mph. It threw him over the car, but miraculously he had no broken bones. His helmet is ruined but it is replaceable..his brain wouldn't have been. He was also wearing a motorcycle jacket so not too much road rash. definitely $1000 well spent on the jacket and helmet.

yes..start wearing it!!

I probably would have had a nervous breakdown if we'd have had ANOTHER death in the family.

That is all.

Thanks for circling the helmet, I thought you were lying at first because I couldn't find it...Then I noticed the circle around it, so I believe you now ;)

Well scooter people's brains are just as fragile, so i recommend helmets for them, too.

I wear mine about 95% of the time..... But i watch everybody around me.. people cell phones are the worst... When i stop at the stop signs or lights i always watch was coming up behind me. I even start pumping my brakes so they see the brake light blink...

I'm in a helmet law state now, so that's prolly better for my noodle.
In OK and TX, I wore it about 1/2 the time.

I watched some goofy broad in a POS with tinted out windows stay in front of a trooper with his lights flashing for at least two miles today. She was in the left lane driving about 62 and of course the right lane was stuffed with people going the same speed. He wasn't trying to pull her over, just get by her. She was completely oblivious. When he zapped her with the siren, she got the idea and got over in the right lane. As he went by her, he threw his hands up in the air as if to say "WTF lady?"

As I passed her, I noted she was on the phone, smoking a cig and putting on mascara between puffs. On the flippin' Broken Arrow Turnpike near downtown Tulsa.

No sirree, ain't getting me on no donorcycle, helmet or no. To many dumarses in four-wheelers on the road.

With the new LED police lights, its amazing how the old lights don't stand out at all. I can understand people not noticing for a while.
But if'n it was an OHP, like ya said, they all have the LED's, except those without bars on top...

There are dumarses driving all manner of vehicles on our roads today. But I agree, the primary reason not to drive a donorcycle (I like it) isn't necessarily that *you* are a bad driver. Be as careful as you want, you'll still end up in an accident one day. You'll be in the hospital and the dumb broad in the SUV will have smeared some lipstick. Think about it.
