I'm still ****ed we didn't put Chief Standing Bear on it.

That being said, the stone phallus isn't very impressive in person, but it was an Oregon Trail Landmark.

At least they aren't shooting off their popguns.

Shhhh! We haven't told BC about the F'n Hillbillies that we have in western Nebraska.

Western Nebraska is like the crazy relative that stays locked in the basement, you try not to tell folks about them.

You know you guys just cursed yourselves by putting the "giant stone phallus" on your quarter. The last state that put a stone natural landmark on their quarter now regrets it.

It's really not that giant, there are bigger stone phallus's in the Near vicinity. The important thing to note about the quater is it depicts people just passing through to some where better.

What's the history behind calling Nebraska people "bug eaters?"

If we don't have a "land run" depicted on our quarter I will be p1ssed.

I don't want Sequoyah because he wasn't born in OK.

I could live with Will Rogers' image along with the land run. That and the coolest state bird evar...The Scissor-tailed Flycatcher.

There, that settles it. Will, the bird, and a land run scene.

It was an early mascot of the football team. It refers to back in the pioneer days, more than a few crop years were ruined by grasshoppers.

That was what NU called their teams before "Cornho"--I mean, "Cornhuskers." It was some kind of sick and twisted Nebraskan bird or something.

But do you know some of the other names they went by before they became the Huskers? Old Gold Knights and Rattlesnake Boys are ones I can remember off the top of my head. I know there was more, though.
