Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006.

Stay home and hope for OU vs. UAB on TV or at least an internet radio broadcast and the "official game thread" or....

take my friend's invite to float his pontoon down to Knoxville with the Volunteer Navy to see Tennessee vs. Cal. We live about 90 minutes from Knoxville (by truck, not boat).

Keep in mind the wife and I have concert tickets the night of the MTSU game.

I'm no Tennessee fan, but I did get tickets last year to go up and see them get clobbered by ND. Good times.

My fiance wants to get married on November 18, and there's a game that day. We are attempting to reach an amicable resolution.

Get a generator, a satellite dish and a tv to put on your friend's pontoon boat.

sets a bad precedence, that also means an anniversary on to interfere. Skipped my cousins wedding a few years ago, it was on Bedlam, most of the family did also. No weddings, no showers, no other frilly crap during duck, college football season, or holiday weekends. There is a reason why Feb-April exist.:D

Don't pick an off-week, you fool! It won't always be an OFF WEEK! Pick a different season.

That happened to my buddy when I was still @ OU. They tried during the OU @ BAMA game. It wasnt good people were quick to leave--even questioning him what he was doing. push back or up--my input. congrats though.

just inform her that if she really loves you, she needs to understand that you can always get married but this football season only happens once ;)

If it was up to me, I would take your friend's offer to ride with the Volunteer Navy.
I consider myself a big fan of college football, not just the Sooners, and me and a buddy of mine (not an OU fan BTW) who is an even bigger college football fan have been talking about going to some of the great college football venues in the future, like taking in a game under the shadow of Touchdown Jesus at ND, going between the hedges in Athens or a Saturday night at Death Valley.
You will get to experience college football pageantry at its finest. Believe me, I'm no Vol fan either, but I would definitely not turn down an offer to ride with the Volunteer Navy. Hopefully, they don't play "Rocky Top" too many times on the cruise.:D

And even if you do get married on that day, in Oklahoma who the hell is going to show up for a wedding when OU is playing?

On the other hand, you could save $$ on catering and spend it on the honeymoon instead.
